Founder President of Akhanda Sai Nama Saptaha Samithi popularly known as “Sai Jeevi” attained the lotus feet of Shirdi Saibaba on 15th July 2010 at Chennai. He was 94 years old. He leaves behind his wife Smt.Subbalakshmi, a son, three daughters and seven grandchildren. He had associated himself with Shirdi Saibaba movement for almost 40 years.

His father Sri.Ranganatha Iyer was a schoolmate of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt Paramacharya Sri.Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi Mahaswamigal. His father was also a close associate of Sri.Ramana Bhagawan, Sri.Narasimha Swamiji and Sri.Radhakrishna Swamiji.

Sri.Radhakrishna Iyer’s greatest contribution to the Sai movement was propagation of the Akhanda Sai Nama Japa Yagnas i.e., chanting of Sai Taraka Mantra “Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai”. He organized this programme all over the country from 1980 onwards. At Sri Sai Spiritual Centre he had organized a “Nama Japa Saptaha” in 1989 and in Vijayawada for seven weeks in 1984. On the eve of Shirdi Saibaba’s 90th Mahasamadhi celebrations he had conducted the “Nama Japa Yagna” at 90 places all over India and concluded it with a grand finale at Shirdi in 1998. Till his last breath he was always on the move conducting “Akhanda Sai Nama Japam” at different places in the country. Hence, he was accredited with the title “Sai Jeevi” by fellow sai devotees.
