Sai Mahabhakta Shri.M.G.Pradhan was a resident of Venkateshwara Chawl, near Sandhurst Road, Mumbai. He was working as a Clerk with the Department of Customs and Central Excise which is part of Revenue Department.

He had heard of Sai Baba. He had lost his seven year old son and was greatly upset. He was thinking of going and meeting Sai Baba. One day he had a dream in which he saw five Sadhus seated. He asked one of them "which of these is Sai Baba?" pointing towards one Sadhu as Sai Baba. After a few days, he proceeded to Shirdi taking Sitaphal (Custard Apple), Ramphal etc.. which were grown in his own garden at Janjira and offered the fruits to Sai Baba, took His darshan and sat before Him. To his utter surprise, Sai Baba looked the same as he had seen in his dream before coming to Shirdi. The moment Sai Baba saw Shri.Pradhan, He started abusing him using foul language saying "Why does the fool go on lamenting the loss of a son? It is merely going to the earth. The body must go to the earth. Why go on lamenting for that?". Baba continued His abuses and said "Scatter your Ramphal far and wide". Shri.Pradhan understood through Baba's words that one needs to spread the knowledge that a person has acquired. The Baba also went on describing about the inmates of Pradhan's house, his Garden and also the exact number of Sitaphal, Ramphal and other trees that were grown in his garden. Baba narrated with such an accuracy that it looked as though Sai Baba was residing next to Pradhan's s neighbourhood. Baba also told the other devotees who were present in Dwarakamai that Shri.Pradhan had lost his young son just fifteen days back and was lamenting for it. In this manner, Baba was going on removing Shri.Pradhan's poignant grief and fortifying his faith in Him by providing abundant proof that He knew everything about Pradhan and about every individual who came to visit him. Shri.Pradhan stayed there for four days. During those 4 days, many came to Baba and He told every one of them the facts about them which they later mentioned to Shri.Pradhan and other devotees which clearly showed that Baba was knowing everything.

One great incidence of Sai Baba helping him after He left his mortal coil happened in the year 1932. Shri.M.G.Pradhan's young son had laid up with severe fever. After suffering for 3-4 days, his condition deteriorateed and his pulse started to fail. Mr.Pradhan brough his family doctor to examine his son. The family doctor came, checked the pulse and declared that his son had already died. The doctor also began to console Shri.Pradhan's wife. However, Shri.Pradhan was not willing to accept his doctor friend's view point. Shri. Pradhan took some Baba's Udi and applied it to the child's face. He placed the Photograph of Sai Baba near the boy and started earnestly praying to Sai Baba. Seeing this, Pradhan's doctor friend told him that he is behaving in a very superstitious manner. Shri.Pradhan replied that Baba was God and that He would definitely save the boy. After about an hour's time, the boy surprisingly regained his consciousness and actually got up from the bed and later began to play.

After this incident Shri.Pradhan started having more faith in Sai Baba. This helped Shri.Pradhan both in his Materialistic Life as well as Spiritual Journey. After this incident, Shri.Pradhan never visited Shirdi till the year 1935. However, whenever he was in any kind of trouble, he prayed to Baba with intense devotion and faith. Baba also helped Shri.Pradhan by appearing in his dreams and helped him. He regularly got visions of Shri Sai Baba around the year 1934-1936. His belief in Sai Baba started when he got leave, funds etc.. for his first trip to Shirdi. Shri.Pradhan noticed during the course of his 4 days of stay that Baba was full of Udasinatha. He rarely spoke with anybody but absorbed in Himself. Like a drunkard or mad person, he did not move anywhere.
