Sai Mahabhakta Kashinath Dube, was a Brahmin Shopkeeper who was residing at Pune, Maharashtra.

On 3rd May 1936, he narrated in his own words the experiences he had with Shri Sai Baba to Late Shri.B.V.Narasimha Swamji as below:

At first I never used to believe any Sadhus, Saints etc and was averse to them. One day in the year 1909, a lady took a loan of Rs.10 from me at Kopergaon where I was residing then and promised to return it after she came back from Aurangabad. She also told me that a great and powerful Saint by name Sai Baba lived in Shirdi. That was the first time I heard about Sai Baba. Immediately I took a vow or thought that if the Rs.10 loan were returned by that day which I was not sure of getting back, It should be offered to Shri Sai Baba. I went to Aurangabad and unexpectedly as promised that lady returned the loan to me. At a later date, I went to Shirdi and had darshan of Sai Baba but did not mention about my vow with Him. He asked Dakshina from me 3 to 4 times on the first day of visit. He first asked for Rs.5, then Rs.2, again Rs.2 and at last for Rs.1. But after two days, He stopped asking anything from me eventhough I went for His darshan on all the 3 days. When I totalled the amount of Dakshina demanded by Baba surprisingly it was exactly Rs.10 which I vowed to offer it to Baba a few months ago.
