Sai Mahabhakta Late Shri.Govind Kashinath alias Appa Saheb Gadgil hailed from Pune and served as Bar-at-Law.

Appa Saheb Gadil was very enthusiastic about Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan's committee work. He effortlessly worked for 10-12 hours. Seeing his perseverence and work ethics at that age used to surprise everyone.

Shri.Appa Saheb had a very close relationship with several public organizations in Pune where he served as member, Vice-President and president.He worked as Secretary of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan and later served also as 2nd Chairman of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust Shirdi.

Shri.Appa Saheb Gadgil had a very cordial personal relationship with all Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan Committee Members.

Shri.Appa Saheb always used to tell "I am going to die without any effort". His words came true. He was in good health till the night of the 1st June 1948, but suddenly his heart stopped working and he passed away peacefully on 2nd June 1948. He was about 78 years old at the time of his death.
