Saibhakta Laxmibai Shinde Trust
Shirdi Saibaba had donated the Divine Nine Coins as his last Prasad to his faithful devotee Laxmibai Shinde a few moments before attaining Samadhi on 15th October 1918 at Shirdi.
The Legend of the DIVINE NINE COINS:
Laxmibai Shinde had, during her entire lifetime, served Shree Saibaba with utmost devotion and care. She used to serve him meals everyday. Shree Saibaba used to address her as “Laxmimaa”.
A few moments before attaining Samadhi on 15th October 1918, Shree Saibaba donated Divine Nine Coins to her as his last Prasad to the world.
These Coins symbolize Nav-vidha Bhaktis. This event and the significance thereof has been described in Shree Sai Satcharitra, Chapter 42, written by late Shri. Govindrao Dhabolkar. The Nine Coins signify the Nine-Fold Path of devotion. They are:
At the time of her demise in 1963, Laxmibai had handed over these Divine Nine Coins to her daughter in law, Sonubai. Today, these Divine Nine Coins are in the custody of Shailajamaa, who is the grand daughter of Laxmibai Shinde and daughter of Sonubai. These Divine Nine Coins have been kept with due reverence at her residence at Shirdi.
Saibhakta Laxmibai Shinde Trust, Shirdi, now intent to enshrine these Divine Nine Coins by constructing a temple at Shirdi in the memory of Laxmibai and Sonubai. This temple will also have a meditation hall and a dining hall where Annadaan Seva will be conducted.
