|When you see with your inner eye. Then you realize that you are God and not different from Him.|
|October 2017||Vol 9 / Issue 10|
It’s been 99 years post the Mahasamadhi of Lord Sai Baba and the next years’ Vijayadashami (in 2018) would mark the completion of 100 years of the divine incarnation. Once again let us firmly bear in our minds that, in case of great souls, samadhi or punyatithi doesn’t mean the death anniversary alone, but casting off the mortal frame which is limited and entering into the state of super-consciousness (Sarvavyapaka Chaitanya). If this is so the case of realized souls then what to speak of LORD SAI SAMARTHA who is “The Source of Realization” [Sakshaatkaara Kaarana], “The Bestower of Realization” [Saakshaatkaara Pradaayaka], “The Veritable Manifest Realization” [Svayam tu Saakshaatkaara Pratyaksheekarana]. Sai Baba is none but the “Anaadimath Parabrahma” who is without a beginning, a middle nor an end. He is that “Non-Dual Supreme Self” [Ekamevaadviteeya] who existed before the entire creation came into existence and has been the source of the latter; HE is that thatva that is existing and will continue to exist even after the final dissolution of the Universe. It only out of compassion for the deena, heena, jada and madamathi, does that divine Unmanifest , dons a garb and enters into the portals of his creation, draws up all the fallen ones , redeems the difficulties of the suffering, dispels the darkness of the ignorant and liberates the seekers.
It is our fortune that the Eternal Principle of this Universe manifested as our Guiding principle- SADGURU SAINATH. So, let us all observe the mahasamadhi of Lord Sai not just a mere anniversary but, the most hallowed day when “ the Manifest ended its physical frame declaring that it is not just the six feet tall frame that tread the soil of Shirdi but the Universal, eternal. All-pervasive, omniscient Supreme Principle”.
Salutations to such a SACCHIDANANDA GHANA SADGURU SAI SAMARTHA.

In this issue:
196) OM SRI SAI URDHVAMOOLAM ADHAH SHAAKHAM ASHVATTAM BHASMA SAATKARAAYA NAMAH
[Meaning: - Salutations to Lord Sainath who alone can cut asunder the Peepal tree of the samsara]
The Veda and Upanishad explains that this entire creation with all its complexities is a Peepal tree (Ashwattha Vruksha) which is in an inverted manner; i.e. the roots facing upwards and the trunk, branches and the leaves spread out and facing downwards. Let us first start looking at the nature of this tree. Lot a mention has been made on this Urdhva moola ashwattha vruksha in scriptures like Rigveda, Kathopanishad, Shwethashwetara and many more great works. The fifteen chapter of the Glorious Bhagavad Gita [the chapter 15 is called as Purushotthama Yoga] begins with the Lord explaining the complex formation of this Peepal tree to Arjuna. The Lord says-
“Urdhva Moolam Adah Shaakham Ashvattam Praahuravyayam |
[Oh Arjuna! The tree of this creation is in an inverted manner with its roots (moola) facing upwards (Urdhva) and the branches facing downwards, the twigs and the leaves that spring forth from these branches is essentially the knowledge of the Vedas and one who has realized this alone would become an embodiment of Vedas]
Lord Krishna further proceeds to explain about the tree in a more detailed manner-
“Adhascha Urdhvam Prasrutaah tasya Shaakhaah
[The branches of this Peepal tree extend in both the downward and upward directions, constantly nurtured and nourished by the three modes of material nature (Satva, Rajas and tamas). Further, the twigs from the branches are the objects of the senses (born out of Vishaya Vaasana). Further the prop-roots arising from these twigs also go down, and these are bound to the fruitive actions of human society.]
