Dear Sai Bandhus,

Yasya deve parā bhaktiryathā deve tathā gurau
tasyaite kathitā hy arthāhprakāśante mahātmana

The Supreme lore of Vedavidya is automatically revealed only to those who have implicit faith in both Lord and Guru and see no difference between the two. Such people are Mahaatmaas indeed for they would have crossed the dualities of life, completely surrendered at the feet of Guru Samartha, meekly follow his instructions as a code of conduct (Guru anushaasana paalanam), regiment themselves and find no difference between the  Almighty and their Preceptor (Guru-Siva Abheedha iti jnaanam) . To these mahaatmaas, the lore of the divine knowledge gets revealed effortlessly and they become an amalgam of Karma-Jnaana-Bhakti by Guru grace and finally   attain their goal [lakshya praapti] which is nothing but Aatmasaakshaatkaara.

It is also interesting to know that we all worship Goddess Lakshmi in the month of Shraavana. In actuality, she is not just the goddess of wealth but, when we delve a bit more on our scriptures about the word "Lakshmi", we get an excellent meaning- "Lakshyam iti  Lakshmi" [i.e. our ultimate goal is Lakshmi]. The ultimate goal of our life is and must be Ïshwara Praapti" (Moksha or aatma ssakshatkaara) alone. As a part of attaining the same, we need to discharge various duties enjoined to us as a son, citizen, daughter, husband or wife etc;  i.e. we may follow all the three purushaarthaas (Dharma, artha and kaama), but all the duties/ activities affiliated to the three should be performed  with a steady focus at the fourth one - "Moksha". So, when we worship Mahalakshmi, it should not only be with an intention of gaining wealth, but gaining all the grace and love of the Guru who removes the dualities of Jiva -Iswara bheda from us and gives us Brahmatva (in other words attainment of goal or  Maata  Lakshmi Praapti ).

Salutations at the Feet such an Immaculate Guru- Sri Sainath Maharaj.

Sri Sai Sahasranama Bhashya

213) OM SRI SAI IKYABHOOTATMANE NAMAH

[Meaning:- Salutations to Lord Sainath who has identified Himself with all the creatures]

This naamavali speaks of the sarva-vyaapakatva of Lord Sai Samartha. In actuality, identifying oneself with all the creatures refers to advaitam itself. One who has realized his self (Aatma saakshatkaara) will automatically realize he is existent in everything. This realization is not out of vasanaas but devoid of the same (including Maaya). Here we should be very careful while understanding this naamavali. There is a lot of difference in identifying ourselves with all, which is of two types- one takes into consideration the Maaya and the other devoid of everything.

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Sansthan Shri.Deepak Mugalikar, Trustees Advocate Shri.Mohan Jaykar, former Vice Chairman Shri.Chandrashekar Kadam, Trustee and President of Shirdi Municipal Corporation Smt.Archana Kote, Smt.Nalini Haware, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Shri.Ravindra Thakre, Chief Accounts Officer Shri.Babasaheb Ghorpade, Administrative Officers Dr.Akash Kisave, Shri.Suryabhan Game, Shri.Dilip Ugale, Shri.Ashok Auti, Deputy Executive Engineer Shri.Raghunath Aher, Horticulture Department Chief Shri.Anil Banage, all department heads, Principal, Teachers, Students of Sansthan run educational institutions, Sansthan Employees and Shirdi villagers participated in large numbers.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Haware said that we should be thankful to Government of Maharashtra as the Government had undertaken this ambitious project of planting 33 crore trees as part of National Festival of Tree Planting (Van Mahotsav). No other State has proposed such an ambitious project of tree plantation on such a large scale. State Forest Minister Shri.Sudhir Mungantiwar has successfully completed his plan to plant 1 Crore trees in the first year, 2 Crore trees in the second year, 7 Crore trees in the third year, 15 Crore trees in the fourth year and now decided to plant 33 Crore trees in the fifth year. As part of its share, Sansthan has undertaken this tree plantation programme.

We all need fresh air in order to survive. We get this fresh air from trees. However, if we do not plant trees, a day will come when we need to carry oxygen cylinders on our back while going to schools and offices. Therefore, if we do not want such a situtation to arise, each one of us should make an affirmation to plant atleast 5 trees every year. Fast growing urbanization is leading to decline in forestation. Increase in forestation is the need of the hour. Dr.Suresh Haware said that everyone should understand the importance of planting trees.

The tree plantation programme was organized by Professor Vikas Shivgaje.
