Getting there and Around

By Air - Earlier the nearest airport to Shirdi used to be at Nasik, 75kms away, Aurangabad at a distance of 150kms, which is connected by all the major towns of India. Devotees also used to come till Mumbai by air and travel 296kms to reach Shirdi. Mumbai has both international and domestic airports that grant connectivity to the world. Devotees also used to come till Pune by Air and from there travel 231 kms to reach Shirdi.

However, Shirdi got its own International Airport in 2017. Honorable President of India Shri.Ramanath Kovind inaugurated Sai International Airport on 1st October 2017. Constructed at an investment of around Rs 350 crore, including Rs 50 crore from the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, the airport, with a 2,500 m-long runway, is capable of handling single narrow-body aircraft, such as Airbus A320 and Boeing 737s. The 2,750 sqm terminal building has been designed to handle a total of 300 passengers, including the arriving ones.

The Airport is located at Kakadi village, about 14 km South-west of the town of Shirdi in Maharashtra, India. It is the fourth busiest airport in the state after Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur. The airport, spread over 400 hectares, is owned by the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC). Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS) and Air Traffic Control (ATC) at the airport will be managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

By Rail - Kopergaon on Daund-Manmad Line is an important railway station about 16kms from Shirdi. This station is on the route of the Karnataka Express from New Delhi to Bangalore. Manmad is another important station about 58kms from Shirdi which carries a number trains from Mumbai and Delhi. Shirdi has a computerized Railway Ticket Booking Center within the temple premises. From here you can have railway tickets of whichever destination all through India.

SAINAGAR RAILWAY STATION INAUGURAL

Thousands of devotees who flock to Shirdi to catch a glimpse of Sai Baba have been blessed with a direct train.

The much-awaited service was flagged off by Union railway minister Lalu Prasad recently. At present regular train services are available from Mumbai, Pune and Chennai.

Shirdi station includes two waiting rooms and a dormitory. The building is aesthetically designed with a touch of local architecture. It has a 500 metre-long platform to accommodate a 22-coach train. The entire project has been completed at a cost of Rs 78 crore.

By Road - Shirdi can be reached by taking a Bus from almost all major cities of Maharashtra. Shirdi is on the Ahmednagar-Manmad Highway, 250 km from Mumbai and 75 km from Nashik. MTDC runs buses from all major destinations.
