Shri Sai Baba's holy abode Shirdi is a world class temple and hence if media representatives belonging to various media houses are spreading defamatory news about Sansthan and Shri Sai Baba without confirmation from sources will affect the reputation of Sansthan. Sansthan always welcomes positive suggestions from people. However, care should be taken to ensure that baseless negative remarks should not affect or harm the dignity of Shri Sai Baba and Sansthan. Sansthan has appealed to representatives of all media in this regard.

Shri Sai Baba during His sojourn never discriminated rich and poor devotees who came to have His darshan. Shri Sai Baba exercised equanimity of vision on all devotees. The same has been mentioned in holy Shri Sai Satcharitra as well. But it is unfortunate that some media houses are trying to create such discrimination amongst devotees. The administration of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan is governed by Sansthan Act-2004. Also, Shirdi is a World class temple and Sai devotees from all over the World pay close attention to what is happening in Shirdi. Hence, the readership of news related to Shri Sai Baba Sansthan is huge. However, in the context of Sansthan, some media representatives publish defamatory news without verification and this badly affects the reputation of Sansthan.

Media Houses has always been immensly involved in propagating the life and work of Shri Sai Baba as well as His teachings. Even though the role of media is of paramount importance in Society at present, it is not lawful to publish news which are highly defamatory, baseless, false and that tarnishes the image of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan. However, it is proposed to take action in accordance with the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act against those who defame Sansthan and its officials for publishing such baseless, image-shattering and defamatory news in the context of Sansthan. Also, such persons shall be prosecuted for involving in cyber crime under the Information Technology Act if any defamatory news is spread about Sansthan on social media. An appeal is being made on behalf of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan that if any news disseminating personal, economic, social and mental defamation in the context of Sansthan is published, the Press Council of India will be informed about it and representatives of all media will be held responsible for it.

Sansthan administration has made continuous efforts about spreading this information to make the public aware through various platforms, social media, TV, publications and news.

However, even after the call from Sansthan, it has been observed that due to large number/huge crowds of devotees for Darshan of Shri Sai Baba, especially on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and other festivals or holidays, the darshan system is put to enormous stress than the actual planned capacity. Against the above background, due to Covid-19, restrictions have been issued by the State Government and the District Magistrate under the National Disaster Prevention Act, 2005 and the Epidemic Diseases Control Act, 1897. 1.Devotees can visit Shri Sai Baba every Thursday, Saturday/Sunday as well as on other festivals and holidays at Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi by visiting the website online.sai.org.in and reserving a free/paid darshan pass/aarti pass. It is impossible for the Sansthan administration to fecilitate darshan without a reserved pass.

3.The number of foot palanquins processions arriving in Shirdi are also increasing at an unprecedented rate. Therefore, all palanquin groups should avoid bringing palanquins to Shirdi. This request of Sansthan administration should be strictly complied with. Other restrictions on Covid-19 will continue as it is in existance.
